Walk any trade show floor with Myles O’Reilly and you’ll think you’re with a celebrity. It’s impossible for him to get from one end of a row to the other without someone hollering his name and inviting him over for a chat. Even in the most obscure places, the smallest trade shows, the furthest expo corners of the world, someone will know Myles. It’s truly an experience to witness.
Maybe it’s his magnetic personality, easy nature, and dedication to making every client a long-term partner that makes him popular. Maybe it’s because he’s been in the business for decades. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s because Myles considers his role an honor and never misses an opportunity to help someone and make them his friend. He’s one part celebrity, one part mediator, one part arbitrator, one part laborer and one part solutions guy.
Little did Myles know that over 35 years ago when his brother asked him for a favor, to “come work a show,” he would fall in love with the industry. It’s been a lifelong passion that’s paid off with the best dividend ever—he met his wife Kathy at a trade show!
As Lakeshore City Manager, it’s Myles’s responsibility to ensure every client’s project is matched with just the right carpentry labor, and every detail of their exhibit or environment is perfect, before, during and after an expo. Myles expertly navigates all the fine print and moving parts so our clients can focus on the important things, like setting show sales records and meeting new prospects. He collaborates with everyone—management, sales teams, union labor, venue contractors and the Lakeshore team—to ensure as hassle-free an expo experience as possible.
Lakeshore is lucky the trade show bug bit Myles all those years ago and grateful to have him as part of our family for more than 20 years now. Sadly, we can’t clone him or create a ‘Myles Franchise.’ Other companies have tried, but there’s only one Myles O’Reilly. He embodies everything Lakeshore stands for: high Integrity, enthusiasm and a dedication to always putting clients first!
